BIO

Jenae Cherry was born and raised in Wonder Lake, IL, not far from the Wisconsin border. She grew up singing and performing at both school and church and at 17 her family pitched in to buy her very first guitar. Jenae dedicated every waking minute to diligently learning to play, while being heavily influenced by the sound and style of Sara Bareilles. In high school she auditioned and secured a place in the Madrigal acapella choir. The group toured and performed in Ireland during her senior year and to this date, it remains one of Jenae’s most treasured performance experiences anywhere.

After high school, Jenae attended NIU for one year but realized that her passion and dream to become a successful singer/songwriter was taking precedent over her studies and she subsequently shelved college plans. Then, with an undying support system from family and friends, Jenae packed up and moved to Nashville, TN in August 2009; pursuit of her dream had become real. In 2011 she formed the Jenae Cherry Band and on February 16th, 2011 the band played out live for the very first time. Jenae became a constant in the Nashville scene, making the “rounds”, as well as performing solo acoustic shows twice a week. Jenae’s intimate solo acoustic performances highlight her integrity and transparency as an artist and display a sincere and genuine release of her passion.

Jenae released her 7 song EP titled “Around”, in October of 2013. Currently available on iTunes, the EP has received a monumental embrace and strong reviews from both fans and industry affiliates alike. Jenae then released her 4 song EP “Spinning” in April of 2016, that she wrote in its entirety, and was recorded at Sound Emporium in Nashville, TN. The EP was produced by Aaron Eshuis, and had ACM Guitarist of the Year Winner, Derek Wells, play on all tracks.

Jenae’s passion, love and dedication to songwriting and performing are unparalleled and her music is a direct extension of that love. She is inspired from artists such as the Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood and has so much respect and admiration for the artistry of Kacey Musgraves, The Wreckers, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Colbie Caillat, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.
